Specializing in Cataract, Vision Correction Surgery, Corneal Disease, and Glaucoma Management
Dr. Haq has been a member of the surgical staff at Key Whitman since 2006. He specializes in cataract surgery, vision correction surgery, corneal disease, and glaucoma management. He has extensive experience with LASIK and PRK surgery to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Dr. Haq also has a great interest in the latest lens implant technologies and has extensive experience with the newest generation of toric and multifocal lens implants designed to reduce patient’s dependency on glasses after cataract surgery. Dr. Haq’s passion for helping his patients has led him to continually study the latest medical and surgical options available. He has published articles in numerous peer-reviewed journals and has had the honor of speaking at national Ophthalmology meetings.
Dr. Haq received his undergraduate degree from Boston University from where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. Following his graduation from Medical School, he completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the Health Alliance Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He then completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During his final year of residency, he was invited to serve as Chief Resident by the faculty of the residency program. Following his graduation from the University of Illinois Ophthalmology program, Dr. Haq went on to the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City to complete a fellowship in Corneal and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Haq then spent three years in Chicago where he was on the faculty of the University Of Illinois as an Assistant Professor prior to moving to Dallas and joining Key Whitman.
Dr. Haq lives in Plano with his wife and two children. He loves to travel and has been on several surgical mission trips to Belize to perform charity cataract surgery.
