Tecnis Multifocal in Dallas

Enjoy Higher Quality Vision at Any Distance, in Any Light Condition

The Tecnis Multifocal lens will help you see better than you have in decades, even in low light and far distances. The advanced implantable lens corrects the need for reading glasses and restores vision after cataract removal surgery. The lens delivers superior results. In fact, 94% of patients say they would choose it again as they enjoy an exceptional full range of vision.

What Is the Procedure?

Cataract removal surgery is a safe, highly effective procedure, and lens implants have been in wide use for over 50 years. More than 15 million lens implant and cataract removal procedures are performed every year, worldwide. The surgery is done as an outpatient procedure under local or topical anesthesia and optional sedation. During the surgery, you will be fully awake and feel no pain, only pressure. The entire procedure only takes about 15 minutes to perform, and only one eye is done per procedure. You will come back for the other eye about 2 to 4 weeks later.

During cataract removal, the clouded lens is removed using a technique called phaceoemulsification, or phaco. Through a tiny, 1/8” inch, your doctor will insert a small phaco probe instrument to break apart the clouded lens and remove it. Once it has been removed, your eye surgeon will insert an IOL into the same tiny incisions and into your eye’s lens capsule.

Once the procedure is complete, you will be able to go home within about an hour. Most patients notice an immediate, significant improvement in their vision, but full results usually take a few weeks.

Am I a Candidate for Tecnis Multifocal Lenses?

Patients with cataracts may be candidates, especially if you have difficulty reading or seeing close objects and avoid driving at night. You will immediately enjoy a full range of vision, even without glasses, and in all light conditions.
