Surgery Center
What to Know Before Your Surgery at Key-Whitman Eye Center
When it is time for surgery, your surgeon will perform your procedure in an ambulatory surgery center which has been scrutinized and certified by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program and by Medicare. Both facilities participate in most insurance plans and using an outpatient day surgery center will eliminate a long stay (as may be common in a hospital setting) with lower out of pocket costs.
Your safety and comfort is our utmost concern, and careful precautions are taken to ensure you receive the very best care possible.
On the day of surgery it is important that you have:
- A responsible adult present and available to remain during your visit
- Read through all your preoperative instructions, paying close attention to when and how to begin your medication and when to avoid eating or drinking before your procedure
- Read through postoperative instructions prior to surgery
- It is important that you return to the clinic the next day for a checkup, and please remember to bring your drops to each and every visit including surgery.
