What is a cataract?

Cataracts occur when the natural crystalline lens or focusing lens behind the pupil, begins to become cloudy and dense, this stops light from entering the retina. Cataracts typically begins to occur in our 40s and 50s when individuals notice that their vision is just not as clear particularly first at near. The progression happens so gradually, that many people don’t realize how much vision they are losing until daily activities are affected like using the computer or driving at night. Only after the procedure, do patients realize that they had been missing out on seeing vivid colors and often our patients wish they had done the procedure sooner.
