| Chian-Huey
(Amy) Hong, M.D. was born in Taipei, Taiwan. Her family immigrated
to the United States in 1982 and resides in Houston, Texas. She graduated
Cum Laude from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Med
and Economics. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas
Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Her internship, ophthalmology residency
and glaucoma fellowship were completed at Tulane School of Medicine in
New Orleans.
Dr. Hong is an ophthalmic staff member
of the Key-Whitman Surgery Center.
She is a member of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, the Dallas
Academy of Ophthalmology and the
Texas Ophthalmological Association
and she is a fellow of the American
Board of Ophthalmology. She is a staff
member at Arlington Memorial Hospital
and Health South Arlington Day Surgery
Center and is licensed to practice
medicine in Texas and Louisiana.
Dr. Hong is trained in all aspects of General Ophthalmology. Her surgical
expertise includes cataract, glaucoma and refractive surgery. Dr. Hong
performs LASIK surgery which corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness
and astigmatism. She utilizes IntraLase® and Wavefront customized
treatments. She is credentialed to provide her patients with premium refractive
lens implants which include Crystalens®, ReZoom®, and ReSTOR®.
These implants allow patients to see near, intermediate, and far distances
without glasses or contacts. Dr. Hong specializes in Medical and Surgical
Management of Glaucoma including Laser Trabeculoplasty, Endocyclophotocoagulation,
Glaucoma Filtering Surgeries and Implantation of Glaucoma Drainage Devices.
She is fluent in English, Taiwanese and Mandarin.
