Hoelscher, O.D. was born and raised outside Oklahoma City in El
Reno, Oklahoma. Dr. Hoelscher performed her undergraduate studies in Nutrition
at the University of Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor of Science in Vision
Science at University of Houston. She resides in Plano and enjoys spending
her free time with her husband and two children.
Dr. Hoelscher graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
She earned her postgraduate certification as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.
She is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and certified
in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease by the International
Association of the Board of Examiners in Optometry. She is licensed to
practice in the State of Texas. Dr. Hoelscher completed her Clinical Externships
at the Eye Care and Surgery Center in Dallas and the Colorado Optometric
Center in Denver, Colorado. She served as an co-investigator for the FDA
in LASIK. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the
Texas Optometric Association, and is a member and has served as Past President
of the Dallas County Optometric Society.
Dr. Hoelscher is extensively trained in preoperative and postoperative
management of cataract and refractive surgery including LASIK, Limbal
Relaxing Incisions, Crystalens and Refractive Implants. She performs comprehensive
dilated eye examinations for diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease,
including glaucoma, macular degeneration, corneal disease and diabetic
retinopathy. She also specializes in fitting soft contact lenses.
