| Jorge Corona, M.D.
Jorge Corona, M.D. was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He graduated with Honors in the top ten percent of his class from The Universidad La Salle, School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine. His Internship was completed at the University of Virginia and his Residency in Ophthalmology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Corona completed his Fellowship at the prestigious McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in Oculoplastics and Orbital Surgery.
Dr. Corona is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is licensed in Texas and Colorado. His past experience includes Staff Ophthalmologist in Oculoplastic Surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Big Spring, Texas and Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. He is currently a surgical staff member at Key-Whitman Surgery Center.
Dr. Corona is experienced in all areas of cosmetic and reconstructive oculoplastic surgery. He has presented at international meetings in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Mexico and has published articles in several journals. Dr. Corona is also an instructor at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Course on Endoscopic Dacryocystorhinostomy. He is an active participant in international Medical Mission trips and is fluent in both the English and Spanish languages.
His athletic interests include competitive amateur running and mountain climbing. Dr. Corona has completed the New York City Marathon and the Boston Marathon. His mountain climbing experience has taken him to peaks in Mexico, South America and
Europe.
