The Achievement Awards Program is designed to recognize doctors who regularly
attend scientific programs at a meeting, which occurs once a year and
includes over 25 categories of contributions to the American Academy of
For a doctor to become a candidate for the award, they must earn at least
10 points in a cumulative point system. Doctors are permitted to earn
a maximum of three point a year. Doctors can earn these points in various ways.
What is the American Academy of Ophthalmology?
The American Academy of Ophthalmology was founded in 1980. This association
is made up of ophthalmologists, osteopathic doctors, and medical doctors
who provide exceptional eye care such as optical and surgical procedures.
